Class Description
Introducing Garden Groupies at TRIBE Join our unique community garden club, Garden Groupies, and support TRIBE's music program. This initiative unites plant enthusiasts eager to maintain and grow the plants sold at our pop-up plant stand and special events. What is Garden Groupies? Community Service Club: Members care for and prepare plants that support our music program. Support Through Gardening: Your efforts help raise funds for music teachers and programs. Social and Fun: Meet fellow gardening enthusiasts, share tips, and enjoy the company of like-minded individuals. Support Music Education: Your work directly benefits the students practicing music nearby, making you their "music groupies." Flexible Participation: Open House Style: Come and go as you please between 5:00 PM and 7:30 PM. Free to Participate: No cost – just bring your love for plants and community! Sample Duties: Watering: Keep our plants hydrated. Repotting: Transfer plants to larger pots for growth. Fertilizing: Provide essential nutrients. Pruning: Trim plants to maintain health. Propagating Plants: Grow new plants from cuttings. Planting: Transfer propagated plants to soil and pots. Identifying and Labeling Plants: Ensure each plant is correctly identified and labeled. Making Care Instructions for Plants: Create care guides to help others maintain the plants. Additional Details: Indoor Activity: Located on the 3rd floor at TRIBE. Adult-Focused: Primarily for adults, but you may bring one child (aged 5 or older) per adult. Not a Drop-Off Event: Children must be accompanied by an adult. Engage with the Community: See the impact of your contributions as music students practice nearby. Optional Contributions: Donations of potting soil, plant cuttings, and glass jars for propagation are appreciated but not required. Meeting Schedule: Every Monday starting August 12th Exclusions: No meetings on September 2 (Labor Day) and the Monday of Thanksgiving week.
